New Album Announcement ~ Greetings From Gartnavel

I’m very excited to say, the brand new album ‘Greetings From Gartnavel’ will be released in January 2026 through Last Night From Glasgow! It is a new collaboration with lyricist David Paton, and gives an extraordinary insight into his experiences with schizophrenia. It is now available to pre-order on cd / download and limited edition blue vinyl (1st 50 copies will be signed).

PRE-ORDER GREETINGS FROM GARTNAVEL

A year or 2 ago David sent me some verses that he’d written in his most recent stay in hospital called Making Plans For Yesterdays (hospital verse) each 4 lines long and 22 verses in total. I arranged these verses into the songs: I Hope That I Can Be Redeemed; A Cautionary Undertow, and I Feel A Bit Lightheaded, and that was how our new project started. David would send a new lyric in the post every now and then (I have quite a collection now!) and some of these would really stand out to me as being special. It feels important to put these songs out into the world. and I can't wait for you to hear them.

The cover art is by David, taken from a card he sent me during one of his stays at Gartnavel Hospital during the early days of his diagnosis. I’ve always treasured the card which I’ve had for over 20 years, and it felt fitting that this be the cover and title of our new album.

In David’s words “My name is David Paton. I am a diagnosed schizophrenic and I’m hoping that this recording may prove to be helpful to people experiencing mental health difficulties.”

I am incredibly proud of what we have created and it is an honour to sing David’s words.
