I have collaborated with We Are 1 of 100 to produce a Special Edition run of T-shirts featuring David Paton's artwork and the phrase “I Am Hallucination”, a lyric from one of the songs on Greetings From Gartnavel.
The artwork and album title is from a card that David drew with his left hand and sent me when he was in hospital for the first time and it has been brilliant to see the album coming to life and expanding through this collaboration.
£5 from every shirt sold will be donated to the Schizophrenia Research Fund (via Mental Health Research UK) to support research into schizophrenia and related psychotic conditions.
"The lyric, ‘I am hallucination,’ was inspired by a state of mind where the boundaries between reality and illusion cease to be fixed and where the differences between waking and dreaming become less obvious. I am happy to have my words and artwork featured on a T-shirt supporting the Schizophrenia Research Fund, through Mental Health Research UK. Hopefully, this will raise awareness of mental health issues and may, in some small way, serve to make those experiencing this illness feel a little less alone." David Paton
